The early bird catches the worm! After we got up very early today, we drove with the LUF Mobil to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.
In addition to testing the night driving capability (lighting and headlights) of the LUF Mobil, we took the opportunity to take great pictures of the LUF Mobil in front of the cathedral.
The lighting conditions for photos were perfect - it paid off to get up early 🙂

31st day of the 5-week tour on the Jakobsweg (Way of St. James).
Early in the morning we started from a village near Redondela and drove more than 60km in 5.5 hours to Pontecesures - a village only 20km away from our destination Santiago de Compostela!
The team is in a good mood and everything went well. We can already say that we managed to travel the Way of St. James with the LUF Mobil! 🙂

30th day of the 5-week tour on the Jakobsweg (Way of St. James).
In the course of today's fourth stage of our big tour from Porto to Santiago de Compostela, the border from Portugal to Spain was successfully crossed with the LUF Mobil.
Now we are in Spain and are getting closer and closer to our final destination - Santiago de Compostela!
Today our photographer Karl (www.huber-images.at) accompanied Johannes Ritter on his tour with the LUF Mobil. We drove 57.5 km from Cerdal (Portugal) to Ponte Sampaio (Spain). In about 5 hours we arrived at our destination. Karl took some great shots with his camera, the photos and videos will be available here in our blog in the next days! 🙂

29th day of the 5-week tour on the Jakobsweg (Way of St. James).
Today we have mastered the third stage on our tour from Porto to Santiago de Compostela.
Johannes Ritter drove with the LUF Mobil in 3h and 45 minutes about 35km from Ponte de Lima to Cerdal. On this stage we drove on adventurous forest roads, and also met some cows in the woods! 🙂

28th day of the 5-week tour on the Jakobsweg (Way of St. James).
Today the second stage of the big tour from Porto to Santiago de Compostela was on the agenda. We started in the morning in Arcos and in the evening arrived in Ponte de Lima. Over 52km were driven in about 5.5 hours.
The weather was beautiful and we met some pilgrims who were very interested in the Art-Mobility-Tour and our project.

27th day of the 5-week tour on the Jakobsweg (Way of St. James).
This day we started to travel the next big stage - from Porto to Santiago de Compostela. In the first step we drove from Maia (outskirts of Porto) to Arcos.
The trip took as approx. 3 hours and we drove about 26km. Stay tuned for the next stages! 🙂

26th day of the 5-week tour on the Jakobsweg (Way of St. James).
Today was our last day in Porto and we were able to create some great pictures and video content on the beach. In addition, different beach tests were done with the LUF Mobil. Also the driving behavior of the off-road wheelchair in soft sand was tested.
The goal is to drive in several stages from Porto to Santiago de Compostela in the coming days. Tomorrow Johannes Ritter will ride the first stage with the LUF Mobil.

24th day of the 5 week tour on the Jakobsweg (Way of St. James).
Today and tomorrow the team will stay in Porto and explore the city in small tours with the LUF Mobil. Below you can already see a photo of the beautiful beach in Porto!
Tomorrow the photographer Karl Huber (www.huber-images.at) will arrive with the plane in Porto. He will accompany the crew for the remaining 10 days of their journey along the Camino de Santiago, taking photos and video clips of the LUF Mobil. On Monday, the next big stage will start, namely the journey from the outskirts of Porto to Santiago de Compostela in Spain.

23rd day of the 5 week tour on the Jakobsweg (Way of St. James).
Yesterday evening we arrived on the outskirts of Porto and have thus completed the first major section on the Way of St. James, namely the journey from Lisbon to Porto.
After six tour stages and approx. 350 kilometers driven, the crew around Johannes Ritter checked into a new apartment in Porto last night.
This morning, the artist Marcel Dengel got up very early to look for the perfect place in Porto for a calendar photo with the Masirati sculptures.
In addition to planning the next major section of the trip, the tour from Porto to Santiago de Compostela, today is a recovery and rest day for the team.
In addition, the team is diligently working on an interim report on the tours so far - the report will soon be available here!

Twentyfirst day of the 5 week tour on the Jakobsweg (Way of St. James).
Sixth stage on the official Way of St. James. Today we drove 62 km in about 5 hours!
Due to the corona virus very few pilgrims are currently hiking the Way of St. James - today we met a very friendly pilgrim as you can see in the photo and video below 🙂 He recommended us some great routes and restaurants!

Twentieth day of the 5 week tour on the Jakobsweg (Way of St. James).
Today we mastered the fifth stage on the official Way of St. James in Portugal.
The tour lasted for approx. 7 hours and we drove a distance of 66 km. Stony, rocky and steep paths were no problem for the LUF Mobil. Today was a great tour and adventure, although the sun did not come out 🙂

Nineteenth day of the 5 week tour on the Jakobsweg (Way of St. James).
After we drove 100km with the LUF Mobil yesterday, today we did some smaller tours. Early in the morning the day started with a small tour from the campsite to a nice café. After drinking coffee Johannes Ritter explored the streets of Tomar.
After a relaxed morning Johannes Ritter has driven in the afternoon about 29km from Tomar to Alvaiázere. So the 4th stage on the official Way of St. James has already been mastered.
On the Way of St. James are currently very few pilgrims on the road. The host where we were guests today told us that he usually welcomes 15 - 20 daily guests at this time. Today we were his only guests...

Eighteenth day of the 5 week tour on the Jakobsweg (Way of St. James).
Today was the third tour with the LUF Mobil on the official Way of St. James. Johannes Ritter drove from São Martinho do Porto to a village near Junceira and pulled a trailer with the "MasiRati"-sculpture of the artist Marcel Dengel. We drove 100 km in approx. 8h - luckily the weather was on our side!
So far it was the longest tour we drove at one day and everything worked out perfectly. Johannes had fun driving the LUF Mobil as you can see in the pictures!

Seventeenth day of the 5-week tour on the Jakobsweg (Way of St. James).
Today we drove the second stage with the LUF Mobil on the official Way of St. James. Johannes Ritter drove from Peniche to São Martinho do Porto and pulled a trailer with the "MasiRati"-sculpture of the artist Marcel Dengel. We drove about 46 km in approx. 3h and 14 minutes.
The weather during the tour was unsettled - but even rainy conditions are no problem for the LUF Mobil. We just mounted the rain shield on the front of the machine. Other tours on the Way of St. James will follow - stay tuned!

Sixteenth day of the 5-week tour on the Jakobsweg (Camino de Santiago).
Today was a rest day for the LUF Mobil and we drove only smaller routes and explored the village of Peniche. The artist Marcel Dengel was motivated to find the best places for calendar photos and set up his sculptures.
The crew members discussed with old-school maps and "Way of St. James"-phone-apps which tour will be traveled tomorrow. Check out our blog again tomorrow and stay excited for the next 60km stage on the official Way of St. James with the LUF Mobil!

Fifteenth day of the 5-week tour on the Way of St. James.
Today was the first tour with the LUF Mobil on the official Way of St. James.
Johannes Ritter drove from Ericeira to Peniche and pulled a trailer with the "MasiRati"-sculpture of the artist Marcel Dengel.
The weather was great to ride along the coast-road for 60km. Other tours on the Way of St. James will follow - stay tuned!

Fourteenth day of the 5-week tour on the Jakobsweg (Camino de Santiago). Today we made a nice trip with the LUF Mobil at the coast in Portugal.
Tomorrow the route on the official Jakobsweg (Way of St. James) starts. In the first stage Johannes Ritter will drive about 60km on the coastal road from Ericeira into the direction of Porto. The goal is to reach Porto next week on Friday - every day small stages are driven. Once in Porto, the trip with the LUF Mobil will continue towards Spain to Santiago de Compostella.

Eleventh day of the 5 week tour on the Jakobsweg (Way of St. James).
Today we drove from the West of Portugal to the capital city Lisbon by car. We really enjoyed the landscape in Portugal and also inspected a windmill, as you can see in the video. With several stops we drove the distance of 250km in approx. 7.5 hours.
In the next days Johannes Ritter will drive in stages from Lisbon to Santiage de Compostella with the LUF Mobil.

Ninth day of the 5 week tour on the Jakobsweg (Way of St. James). Today we were traveling with the LUF Mobil in the forests and fields of Portugal.
After assembling the Masirati figure in the forest, we went with the LUF Mobil heading for the sea.

Eighth day of the 5 week tour on the Jakobsweg (Way of St. James). Today we travelled to the beach with the LUF Mobil and built up the MasiRati sculpture in perfect weather conditions. Many passing people were amazed by the scultpures and the LUF Mobil.

Seventh day of the 5-week tour on the Jakobsweg (Camino de Santiago). Yesterday evening, in good light conditions, we took the first photo for the "MasiRati" sculptures calendar 2022.
Early this morning we tested the beach suitability of the LUF Mobil at Benagil Beach (between Lagos and Faro). Johannes Ritter visibly had fun and shows himself motivated for the next adventures and trips.

 

Sixth day of the 5-week tour on the Jakobsweg (Camino de Santiago). Today we have visited the beautiful area here and looked for suitable places to shoot photos. In the tourist area, which is usually very popular, very few people are currently on the road due to Corona.
Tomorrow we will post photos of the MasiRati figures by artist Marcel Dengel and pictures of the LUF Mobil from the beach! This week the crew will stay in the area of Algarve, which is popular for great cliffs, and drive to Lisbon by car at the end of the week. From Lisbon Johannes Ritter will drive with the LUF Mobil the official Jakobsweg (Way of St. James) to Santiago des Compostella.

 

Fourth day of the 5-week tour on the Jakobsweg (Way of St. James). In addition to further tour planning, the area here in Faro has been explored with the LUF Mobil today. A trip to the sea was also included! The weather here is great, but the water temperature of the Atlantic Ocean is very refreshing!

 

Third day of the 5-week tour on the Jakobsweg (Way of St. James). After two days driving over 2400 km by car from Austria to Portugal, today was a rest day, the crew explored the campsite and planned the next tours. Tomorrow there will be pictures of the LUF Mobil from the beach!

 

Second day of the 5-week tour on the Jakobsweg (Way of St. James). The crew traveled by car approx. 1300 km in 19.5 hours through Spain to Portugal. Now the crew has arrived in Faro, Portugal. Faro is the starting point for the first tour with the LUF Mobil. The goal is to travel from Lisboa to Santiago de Compostela with the LUF Mobil.

First day of the 5-week tour on the Jakobsweg (Way of St. James). The crew traveled by car 1176.8 km in 16.5 hours from Austria to Spain. In the luggage: the LUF Mobil, the Masirati sculptures and highly motivated crew members.

As a test drive and preparation for the Way of St. James, the team around Johannes Ritter set out for Meiningen last Friday. The LUF Mobil pulled a 350kg trailer with the figure "Masirati" of the artist Marcel Dengel. With the Same equipment, the team will go on the Way of St. James and start the 5-week tour there at 13th of May 2021.
