LUF 60 in India’s capital city

Firefighting robot from Austria in India's capital New Delhi

The remote-controlled fire-fighting support vehicle LUF 60 has landed in India from Austria. In the next few days, the unit will be demonstrated at the Delhi Fire Service (DFS).
DFS Director Atul Garg confirmed to TOI (Times of India newspaper) that the LUF 60 reached Mumbai port from Austria last December and will arrive in Delhi on Sunday morning.

During rescue operations, firefighters do not know the structure of the buildings where the fire occurred. There is a risk of an explosion or building collapse due to the heat, which could seriously injure firefighters. "In such cases, we can bring the machine closer to the building, and if there is an explosion, there is no loss of life," said a DFS official.
