Major fire at waste sorting system in waste disposal facility
200 emergency forces fought a major fire at a waste disposal company in St. Johann (Austria). A fire broke out in the waste sorting system. The intense heat made the work difficult for the firefighters. When the St. Johann volunteer fire department arrived, the affected area was already in full blaze.
Due to the quick intervention of the fire department, the fire could be limited to the affected area and a larger spread could be prevented. Due to the high fire load and the associated high heat development, the firefighting robot LUF 60 based in Golling was also requested by the fire department.
