Help for the helpers: Fire Baptism of the LUF 60 in Kleve/ Germany
A ambulance crew noticed smoke coming from an opening in the ground in the area of the former "Love Parade" site below the highway in Duisburg. They alerted the fire department. The firefighters located the fire in an underground shooting range about 170 meters long.
"Due to heavy smoke and the danger of collapse, it was difficult for the emergency forces to advance into the building to extinguish the fire. After the operation had already taken the whole night, an alternative was needed," says Kleve fire department spokesman Florian Pose (41). Without further ado, the Kleve comrades were asked for support with their LUF 60. A squad of specially trained firefighters then arrived in Duisburg with the extinguishing robot.
